Cheerful Seniors

Your care provider has asked you to contact us to arrange a financial assessment.

The financial assessment is designed to be useful to you as well as the care provider.  The assessment will give you some really useful information about the affordability of the care you have chosen.

We may also offer guidance on some other aspects of your situation.

The assessment is carried out at 'arms-length' from your care provider so they will not receive any of your financial details.  These are kept securely on our systems.  You can also ask us any questions about you care or personal and financial situation.

Both you and your care provider will receive a report from us showing the length of time for which we believe you can fund your care.

Our job is to prove to your care provider that you can meet their fees.  Therefore during the assessment we will ask to see the following items:

  •     Proof of your income.  This can be a bank statement, a payslip, a letter from the DWP or a pension fund.

  •     Details of any expenditure that will continue once you move into care.

  •     Proof of your assets.  If you have savings, bonds, investments, ISA's, shares or any other assets we will ask to see current statements.

  •     Details of any mortgages, loans or other debts and current statements.

  •     The full address of any property so that we can check the Land Registry to ensure that you are the registered owner.

  •     Any power of attorney document that you hold.

We will review your situation and provide you with appropriate guidance about other services that may be useful to you.

The assessment can either be carried out face to face if you live near our office or the care home, or we can do it remotely by email and/or post.
